How My Intervention Works

The Wilson Reading System® (WRS) is an intensive Tier 3 program for students in grades 2-12 and adults with word-level deficits who are not making sufficient progress through their current intervention; have been unable to learn with other teaching strategies and require multisensory language instruction; or who require more intensive structured literacy instruction due to a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia.

The program is implemented with 100% fidelity and has proven to be effective with students of all ages and reading abilities.

How Does Online Intervention Work?

Through my extensive experience as an educational therapist and dyslexia specialist, as well as my research in the field, I found that the use of technology keeps students more engaged and motivated. To utilize students' enthusiasm for learning, I use Zoom Video Conferencing as well as Whizzimo, the leading e-teaching platform for Orton Gillingham based multisensory reading and spelling instruction in the industry. The intervention is live, highly interactive, and face-to-face. Through working with me, mentees will show progress and gain confidence to continue to flourish and develop a true love for reading.

Most students will be able to read on grade level within two to three years if they consistently attend sessions 2-3 times per week. It takes two to five years to complete the entire Wilson Reading System.

Mentees attend instructional sessions, either one-on-one or in small groups (no more than 3 mentees per group), depending on their reading level and instructional needs. Lessons run either twice a week for 1-hour per session, or thrice a week for 45-minutes per session.

For more information about the Wilson Reading System, please refer to the FAQ and feel free to get in touch and I will be more than happy to speak with you about your child's particular needs and how the program would be tailored to him or her.
